More Human than Human
- How most body images created don't look realistic.
- The brains of ancient humans looked at the body a lot different than we do now
- ancient Egyptions like showing the chest front on palms outward, legs and feet are shown outward and head is shown from straight on
- In 7th century artists portrayed humans as realistic than stylistic
- Human body is reflected in art and how people are obsessed how it looks not just in life but in art as well
- artist mix realism and idealism to create great art
3. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?
Both videos focuses heavily on the human body and how amazing it can be. It analyzes from head to toe. Also talks about human body back then and now and how it was looked at.
4. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the readings and art concepts?
The two films were interesting in certain ways. I liked learning about how artists look at human bodies and how in depth one must look in order to get a grasp of every curve of the body. The films opened up my mind after the reading, just because its easier for me to catch on with videos than it is with reading.
